Discover the power of storytelling as a tool to connect and inspire.
In this (gently) interactive workshop, we will explore how embracing vulnerability and reflecting on our own journeys can encourage students to embrace resilience, self-acceptance, and individuality. Through personal narratives and shared experiences, we will learn to model the validation of diverse learning paths and empower students to see their unique ways of knowing as the foundation for a meaningful future.
By embracing vulnerability and reflecting on our past experiences and evolving self-perceptions, we can become open to uncovering the excellence within ourselves. This self-awareness empowers us to inspire students to explore their unique paths, encouraging resilience and self-acceptance. By validating their diverse ways of learning and knowing, we help students recognize their intrinsic worth and understand that their individual journeys will shape the foundations of their futures.
Leah is a newly appointed TTOC in the district, bringing over 30 years of diverse teaching experience from international schools, American public schools, juvenile detention, and the federal prison system. Outside the classroom, she is a writer, podcaster, avid reader, and lover of comedy.
