In this workshop, educators will learn about Palestinians–who they are, what their history and culture is, and what the racism they experience looks like. The goal of this workshop is to equip educators with the knowledge needed to both have more meaningful discussions about Palestinians and to identify and address anti-Palestinian racism.
Bio: Waleed is an ELL teacher working on the ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ nations. He completed his master’s degree in 2015 from the University of Ottawa where he specialized in Israeli family law. When he is not teaching, he can be found researching and recording the history of Islam in Canada.
