She has worked with the Early Years parenting programs and Aboriginal Head Start, both locally and provincially. Mavis has facilitated Berwick inter-generational art projects as well as online presentations for BC Aboriginal Child Care Society and Jordan’s Principle coordinators. She has hosted in-person presentations for professional development with Aboriginal Infant Development Consultants and for music teachers at a provincial UVIC music conference in 2023.

Mavis most recently became a published author with her flip-book titled ‘Achak Iskotêw’. Her first book, ‘A Recipe For A Drum’, can be found in schools district wide as a teaching tool for the students to learn and grow with the resident drum babies that were created on-site. She is currently working on an activity/colouring book that will encourage healthy human development rooted in Indigenous values and ways of being.  Mavis is gracefully determined to continue her journey of discovery and health with Indigenous ceremony and culture, art therapy, and a gentle yoga practice that she is happy to share with participants of any age at any stage of life.
