Time: 10:30 am – 12:00 Grades: 3-7
Presenter: Jamie Dobbs
Location: G.P. Vanier
Limit: 20 max in-person
Jamie will introduce you to Neurographica or Neurographic Art, a therapeutic art invented by Pavel Piskarev, Doctor of Psychology and founder of the Psychology of Creativity Institute.
Jaime will show you how to scaffold this activity for different ages and weave it into different themes. Your students (and you!) can use it during times of stress or anxiety to ground themselves, become present in the moment, and activate their healing parasympathetic nervous system.
This art form does not require any talent or experience, little prep, and always feels good. Use it as a classroom management tool, as a jumping off point to self-regulation lessons, in various artistic ways, and more.
Jamie Dobbs has taught grades 2-7 at the Fine Arts Academy through NIDES for the last 10 years. She loves tapping into her Psychology degree and Special Education Maters degree to bring wellness activities into the classroom through art.
