CUPE National Health & Safety

Workplace safety in British Columbia isn’t a privilege; it is a legal right. This short course will walk you through your right to refuse unsafe work, what your employer is required to do to keep you safe, your role in workplace health and safety, and how to raise concerns with WorkSafeBC when those obligations aren’t being met. We’ll also explore the precautionary principle, a core health and safety concept that reminds us: if there’s a real risk of
harm, action should be taken even when all the answers aren’t yet known. Because strong health and safety systems start with informed, confident workers.
