Menopause at Work: Creating Supportive and Inclusive School Communities

Mary Lee is a former public relations professional with more than 24 years of experience across sectors including healthcare, government, life sciences, and education. With a lifelong background in fitness and wellness, she recognized menopause as one of the most overlooked and misunderstood experiences affecting women, particularly in the workplace. Motivated by lived experience and grounded in science communication, Mary became a certified Menopause Doula and Licensed Menopause Champion. In addition to supporting individual clients, she works with forward-thinking organizations to build menopause-aware workplace cultures, drawing on leading Canadian examples to demonstrate how inclusive leadership and policy design can improve retention, recruitment, and employee wellbeing. As the founder of Emme Elle Coaching and host of The Menopause Disruptor Podcast, Mary is helping to shift the narrative around this natural life stage.
